My first novel by this writer, and her debut novel : I'll have to read more !
The beginning was a little slow, and I didn't really like Cathy - how she was in the past, how I couldn't really relate to her in the present.
However, the more I knew about her, about what happened, the more I got hooked. "That" character is simply terrifying (no spoiling here) !
Please, if you don't like the beginning, if you're tempted to give up, hold on and keep reading, I bet that just like me, you won't be able to put it down.

3.5 stars!

Into to the Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes is my second book by the author. I knew it was her most popular, and it had such high ratings... I had to give it a try! The book goes back in forth in time between current time and the past when Catherine was just meeting Lee and starting to date him. In present time, we see that Catherine's life has been turned completely upside down, and she now suffers from pretty severe OCD. She has to check her door a certain amount of times, the curtains have to be parted at a certain spot, she drinks tea at the same times every single day, etc. But what happened to Catherine to change her lifestyle so dramatically?

Reading about the escalation in relationship between Lee and Catherine is so intense. What looks so normal and good at first for them can turn so ugly, so fast. This book was so creepy and realistic, and it's terrifying the lack of people Catherine has on her side. This book is written in such a way to keep turning the pages, and the characters were all amazing. I enjoyed Stuart so much, and I am so pleased Catherine had someone like him in her life to help take care of her and understand her. All the way until the end of the book you will be guessing what will happen. Great read!

This book is written it two parts, telling a story of a woman slipping into her darkest corner.

Catherine's relationship with Lee is great until his true self begins to come out. He is controlling and abusive and thinks he is charming enough to manipulate the people around Catherine.

Four years later, Cathy is suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder and post traumatic stress, and trying to get her life back on track.

Read in one sitting. Couldn't put it down. Very interesting structure with a past and present story simultaneously told.

Well...it definitely kept me interested because I read it in one afternoon. I'd like to give it 3.5. I really wish that we had half stars! Oh...and at $1.99 on iBooks, I couldn't pass it up.
