Stephen King

As entertaining as I hoped - I was so happy Mr. Jingles came back, and the buildup of the plot!!!! - but so frustrating that Paul Edgecombe spent so much effort using John Coffee as a tool to save Melinda Moore’s life, as if hers was so much more precious than John’s. Also disappointed that Stephen King used the “magical negro” trope to a tee.

Amazing book!!! It was very similar to the movie, but I felt it was easier to follow the characters in the book. This was my first Stephen King book, and I'm pretty sure I'll be reading more.

This book was enthralling! I was excited to continue reading at any chance I got. There were some bits that I could’ve used without (some references indicate it’s an old white man and it was written 25 years ago). Overall, I definitely recommend for those who are not squeamish.

Oh King... Always reaching, always overextending. King writes truly powerfully, but he does so in the book writing about racism in a way that's not kosher by today's standards. I see what he was going for... Some of it works... Some of it isnt quite right.

Read this in instalments, the way its outhor intended..
