I won this! Yes - and I never win anything.
Anyway, I thought it was a novel, but it isn't, it's travel writing, which is nice. Matthew Fort ambles about the Italian islands, eating lots of delicious food and talking to people. He rides a scooter called Nicoletta and goes on many ferries. He attempts to describe the exact colour of the water, goes snorkeling - it's all very gentle, but none the worse for that. He writes nicely, and we already know he knows about food. He's spent a lot of time in Italy as well, so he can compare things today to how they were fifty years ago. I enjoyed it.
