Hidden gem of a book!

What a hidden gem this book is! Ominous, bleak, and very well written with shades of Stephen King at his best. Rich characterization, well-paced, and a crescendo finale that will keep this book in your mind for days to come. Keith Rosson, you have a calling in life and I believe it is to write! I am looking forward to your next book!

4.5? So good. And I love that the author didn't shy away from following through with a little bit of sci-if. The characters were really rich. Well done for someone who comes from a graphic designer background.

2.5 stars. The story was great but the writing style wasn't for me; I found the first half of the book really dragged. In my opinion the strongest chapters were those from the two kids' points of view.

while reading this book I felt an overwhelming sense of melancholy. in fact, it might be the saddest book I've ever read. however, I mean that as a compliment, as keith rosson is a truly gifted writer. it's a little less plot based than the description would have you believe, and is really more of a character study about grief. But he does a great job of bringing everything together & linking the bizarre happenings to the emotional lives of the characters. also, the writing style is so great that I really didn't mind spending time in these character's heads. dang I just loved this book!
