This book is lyrical and stunning. I enjoyed every minute of it and will be revisiting it again and recommending it to anyone who cares to listen.

The Jaguar is an accomplished yet accessible poetry collection. Many of the poems feature the poet’s relationship with her father, the impact Parkinson’s had on him, his final days and her grief at his death. These are poignant, very intimate and deeply moving;no doubt tough to read if you have recently lost a parent or have a loved one with a neurological condition. I also found the group of poems connected to the end of a romantic relationship to be very powerful - anger and anguish were clearly and convincingly conveyed. There is also a section of travel poetry and while they are objectively good poems  they lacked the emotional punch and didn’t resonate with me as much.
