I knew what I was getting myself into when I got the copy of Tears of Tess. Honestly, the first time I read about the book, I didn't want to pick it up because I thought it was way depraved than what I was in the mood for (been going through a sort of reading slump, eh). However, it wasn't until I wrote an article listing the best dark romances that I finally got intrigued to pick it up.

Now, don't get me wrong. This book is depraved. Very, very dark. I knew the trigger warnings but instead of being repulsed by them, I was more intrigued by them. Honest to shit, it scared me shitless, this curiosity of mine. And so, I started reading this book.

First few pages, Tess was just a curious girl who wanted to explore her sexuality. After that... oh my God. Horrors and graphic details of the tortures she faces after being abducted and held captive. And how all that makes her explore something more than her sexuality. It makes her explore her true self. The one who is fierce, bold and powerful.

The book was seriously a heady mix of emotions. I loved Tess, her growth, her willpower. I loved loved Q, with all his depravity and monster tendencies. And honestly that makes me questions my own sanity lmao πŸ˜ΆπŸ˜‚.

If you can stomach this stuff, you are in for a ride.
