In this continuation of Persepolis, Marjane is now a teenager and has been sent to Austria to escape the war in Iran. Living more or less on her own, she breaks loose of Iranian society in the boldest possible ways. When she finds herself homeless and is forced to return to Iran, she must learn to re-adjust to society while still retaining her individuality.

I loved seeing Marjane's growth as a character and a teenager to young adulthood. Makes you put into perspective the many different lives people are living, and how war and death and oppression can shape and mold you is whichever it wants unless you are willing to stand up for what you believe in. I wish there was more to read!!

After watching the movie, i was extremely curious about the graphic novel that started it all and i grabbed the copy after months of deliberation. I would need the book 1 though but that can wait until next sunday for fullybooked's comic book day!!! Am so excited!!!! :D the book was filled with Satrapi's wit and courage and you can't help but admire her in the end. It's a pleasure to read a splendid memoir like this!
