Even though the book is great, I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the illustrations of her blaming an innocent man and causing him harm, even worse maybe having him hanged just to save herself. What a cunt Marjane Satrapi is! How the hell does she live with herself?

Once again I loved the series, but I thought it was in four parts. It was a big disappointment to reach the end of vol 2 (english edition) and reach for vol 3 (swedish edition) only to find out that it was the same book I'd just finished. Oh well, at least I have Embroideries on standby.

A few pages made me laugh out loud. Worth it.

I loved this just as much -- if not more -- than the first installment!  The book details two fascinating experiences: moving from Iran to Vienna as a teenager, and then returning home a few years later to a much more repressive, religious country.  I cannot imagine living under such a regime; people were thrown in prison or even killed for dressing incorrectly, wearing make-up, being caught with Western media, and so on.  This dramatic backdrop makes Marjane's problems with her studies, love life, family, and mental health even more compelling.
