his is a strange, but enjoyable book. The first third to a half is a straight up murder mystery. The cops have DNA evidence, fingerprints, eye-witnesses, the works, so they arrest the guy. Once he's arrested, however, they find incontrovertible evidence he couldn't have committed the crime, so what's going on? How is that possible?

This is where the horror elements come in, which have elements of Doctor Sleep, Desperation and The Regulators, the Mr. Mercedes trilogy, and Revival, as they go off in search of something other worldly that enabled someone to be in two places at once.

It was a pretty good book. The premise is pretty daft, but if you can get over than you'll probably rather enjoy it. The same can be said about the books I listed earlier, if you liked them, you'll probably like this one too.

It kept my attention but still wasn’t mind blowing for me. I’d say a solid 3.5 ⭐️

Not great King, starts strong but gets worse with a terrible ending. Not keen on the Holly Gibney character either

This is my new favourite king book. I really enjoyed the pacing of it and it was a very interesting story, I loved trying to figure out what happened and who was responsible.

This book is as good as the Finders Keepers trilogy that it is also the spiritual successor for. All the characters were well written, believable and interesting in their own ways. I even found myself deeply invested in very minor characters.

The story hooked me almost from page one and never really let up, this is a vey hard book to put down and it stays with you long after you set it down. The book has a nice pacing between character progression and plot progression and always feels like it is moving you further along. Along with all that this book is a great mix of crime mystery and supernatural scares that Stephen King perfected in the Finders Keepers books.

I seriously loved this book and truly hope this is the last time I see Holly Gibney and for that matter it wouldn't break my heart if I could get a bit more Ralph Anderson too.
