A lesson in the wisdom of not considering every online review. Excellent.
Brandon, continúa con esta... ¿Saga?¿Este planeta?¿Este mundo? Primer aviso.

Short review :
"Elantris" is a captivating fantasy notable for its imaginative world-building, compelling characters, and engaging plot. The story centers around three protagonists: Raoden, the determined prince of Arelon; Sarene, a strong-willed and intelligent princess; and Hrathen, a morally complex priest. Each character's journey is intricately woven with themes of redemption, faith, and the power struggle.
The decaying city of Elantris, once a place of magic and prosperity, now serves as a haunting backdrop for a tale of political intrigue and personal growth. Sanderson's writing is accessible yet eloquent, vividly bringing this unique world to life.

Long review:
"Elantris" by Brandon Sanderson is a masterfully crafted tale that immerses readers in a richly detailed world filled with intriguing characters and a compelling storyline. Sanderson's debut novel stands out for its imaginative setting, intricate plot, and the profound journey it offers its characters and readers.
Setting and World-Building
The city of Elantris, once a beacon of magic and prosperity, now lies in ruins, its majestic buildings crumbling and its inhabitants cursed with a fate worse than death. Sanderson's world-building is exceptional, painting a vivid picture of a city that has fallen from grace and the political machinations that surround it. The contrast between the decaying Elantris and the vibrant, politically charged city of Kae enhances the story's depth and immerses readers in its unique atmosphere.
Characters
One of the novel's greatest strengths lies in its well-developed characters. The story follows three main protagonists: Raoden, Sarene, and Hrathen.
Raoden, the prince of Arelon, is charismatic and determined. He provides a beacon of hope and leadership within the cursed city of Elantris. His journey from despair to leadership is inspiring, showcasing themes of resilience and perseverance.
Sarene, a strong-willed and intelligent princess, defies the traditional roles expected of her. She navigates political intrigue with skill and determination, making her a formidable and relatable character. Her blend of wit, compassion, and strategic thinking adds depth to the narrative.
Hrathen, a high-ranking priest with a complex moral compass, is a compelling antagonist. His internal struggles and evolving beliefs create a nuanced portrayal of faith and fanaticism, adding layers to the story's conflict.
Each character's journey is intertwined with themes of redemption, faith, and the power of belief, making their personal growth and development central to the novel's appeal.
Plot and Themes
The plot of "Elantris" is a finely woven tapestry of political intrigue, mystery, and adventure. Sanderson excels at balancing multiple storylines, keeping the narrative engaging and unpredictable. The novel explores themes of power, faith, and the nature of divinity, challenging characters to confront their most profound beliefs and desires.
The story's pacing is well-executed. Secrets are gradually revealed, and tension builds as the characters' paths converge. Sanderson's ability to create suspense and deliver satisfying plot twists keeps readers on the edge, eagerly turning pages to uncover the next revelation.
Writing Style
Sanderson's writing is both accessible and eloquent. He has a knack for creating vivid imagery and clearly conveying complex ideas. His attention to detail and meticulous plotting are evident throughout the novel, making "Elantris" a rewarding read for fantasy and speculative fiction fans.

Don’t be fooled, I may have rated it 4 stars, but only because it just didn’t compare to Warbreaker or B Sando’s other series. I still loved this story and I’m excited that he’s releasing other installments!
B Sando once again shows us that authors can still make strong female characters without it being cliché. Sarene is witty, strong, intelligent, and a trailblazer. She’s “unconventional” for her world but she never makes it a crutch or a defining quality of hers. I just truly admire her character and wish that other authors wouldn’t stick to the one-trick pony that is the no personality “woe is me” girl then making her an assassin or (insert something badass here) trope. BORING.
Raoden is just amazing; you can tell that B.S has a favorite type of character he likes to write for his princes (Raoden, Elend, Adolin). All the golden retriever boyfriends that end up stepping up to be heroes. B.S has me FERAL for these men I’m like gnawing at the bars.
(I am also a bit sad we got robbed of Raoden’s brother, the Mad Prince, and all that it would’ve added to the plot)
My criticism for this book is that it was very slow, but now realizing that there’s more books coming it was all probably setup. The other is that King Iadon’s story was really weird and fast? Like I was confused on how we got there it felt like I missed something important.
I was very confused about what is revealed about her dad and uncle and how it pertains to the story, there’s not enough information given there but I’m sure it’ll be touched upon in the following books. (Side note: it should be CRIMINAL to wait 20+ years for the next book; straight to JAIL)
