I don't usually read comics, but I adored the X-Men cartoons and movies.
Rogue and Gambit are some of my favorite characters and I have always shipped them, so this volume had me fangirling.
This was a quick, fun read comprising issues 1 to 5. In addition to the couple's banter, this also featured :
Spoiler
1) A honeymoon in space, which turned into a mission
2) Deadpool (I plan to read [b:Uncanny Avengers (2015) #2|28374781|Uncanny Avengers Counter Evolutionary #2|Rick Remender|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1451323383l/28374781._SY75_.jpg|53058147] for backstory on the Kiss)
3) Xandra, bio-engineered daughter of Professor X and Lilandra
4) Appearances of Shi’ar, Technet and Starjammers
5) Rogue's powers evolving yet again
There were a few LOL moments, such as the lockpick scene, Rogue educating Xandra about telepathic boundaries and Kitty asking why there was always someone naked on their ship.

Though the 1 drawing of Beast looked weird, I still found this to be extremely entertaining and immediately started with [b:Mr. and Mrs. X, Vol. 2: Gambit and Rogue Forever|43210912|Mr. and Mrs. X, Vol. 2 Gambit and Rogue Forever|Kelly Thompson|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1562766848l/43210912._SY75_.jpg|67053778]

Issue-wise overview:
6: X-Men party at Rogue's and Gambit's apartment crashed by Thieves Guild. Belladonna and Magneto appear.
7: Mojoverse. Filler issue
8: Spiral intervenes
9: Gambit is on a stealing gig while Rogue is on a quest for self-discovery
10: Fight with Mojo
11: Gambit returns to New Orleans and Rogue follows to rescue him. Candra, Thieves Guild, Belladonna and Assassins Guild appear.
12: Final showdown with Candra and the Guilds. Jean Luc and Tante Mattie appear

A lot of good moments but not something I would re-read.

I haven’t delved much into comic reading but I thought I’d check out this series and I wasn’t disappointed! I adore Rogue and Gambit so much!! This series is such a fun and enjoyable read. It’s got romance and action and humour, everything that I could’ve asked for really. Even though I’m not deeply into the X-Men comics, I didn’t find it hard to understand what was going on. Overall, would definitely recommend this series!

Stellar art, Kelly Thompson's stellar plotting and character work, what's not to love?
