This wasn’t as good as the other books I’ve read by the same authors. Somehow the story wasn’t as thrilling. But still an okay book.

UPDATE 2/17/22 I've now read The Golden Couple. Trashola. This was their only decent book I've read out of three.
THE PLOT
Jessica Farris is a broke bish and decides to commit a felony by impersonating another girl to complete a study for $$$$$. But this isn't your normal study... soon Jessica's in the streets doing more illegal stuff, but this time at the direction of the mysterious Dr. Shields. Jessica starts to wonder if the money is really worth it, and what are the true motives behind this study.
MY OPINNI
I HATED "The Wife Between Us" with a burning passion and wasn't going to read this novel once I realized who the authors were, but I was intrigued by the premise so I forged on. And I'm glad I did.
I was very impressed by the huge improvement in writing and the originality of the storyline. IMO, this novel deserves the praise and excellent rating TWBU received.
It wasn't the hardest "whodunnit" to figure out, but it did keep me guessing and was well-paced. Although, Jessica... GIRL LOL. I've been a broke bish too, but some of the things she was doing for Dr. Shields would've had me like "maybe ramen with hot dogs for dinner isn't so bad." But that wouldn't be an enticing read, so I'm glad Jessica was too-trusting or money-hungry or whatever and went through with it, because it made for a great novel.
I liked the ending. I actually felt bad for Dr. Shields even though she was def an unhinged stalker who shouldn't be a psychologist and needed major court-mandated therapy. But her devastation as all her trifling behaviour came to light was palpable, and I had to feel for her. She was d***mitized.
PROS AND CONS
Pros: Idk what kind of writing classes they took, or if they hired a better ghost writer, but the writing quality was actually... dare I say, good, in comparison to TWBU. Storyline was unique and it was a quick read
Cons: Easy to figure out

It started off very entertaining and interesting, but I just feel like it got crazier and crazier as it went along. And in the end, I was really just frustrated.

Ah what can I say about this book, other than the fact that I expected a lot more.
Part one of the book is great and makes you want to keep flipping pages but then around part two I figured out the plot and was deeply disappointed by it. The psychosis of one of the characters was so evident and her motivations were so unbelievable that I found myself rolling my eyes so hard.
Don’t get me wrong I’m all for unbelievable plots and psychotic characters but this one in particular does not go down as a delicious juicy character for me.
On the other hand Jess is well written and believable which made me want to hang around and find out what decisions she would take. I enjoyed how she handled things.
The ending was also less than satisfactory. It’s a solid 3 star read for me.

The BEST psychological thriller I have read. I normally can guess the endings to books but this one floored me!
Really enjoyed this one! Much more than the golden couple. It definitely drug out a bit, if It was shorter i think the plot twists would of hit harder. But a different premise then many other thrillers which i enjoyed!
