It was decent, but I thought that the book was gonna go in a completely different direction than it did.
I thought that Jessica and Dr. Shields were forming a romantic relationship and that would turn into something more instead of Jessica cheating with Thomas.
This was arguably an entertaining book, but it lacked in lots of ways that could of been expanded on and kinda went a little off the rails at some points.
But it was such a missed opportunity to not have Dr. Shields and Jessica’s relationship blossom into a romance and then have that turn as Jessica finds out more.

shout up to unhinged women, gotta be my favorite genre

The dream team that is Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen have done it again! Their sophomore effort is worth all the hype. Having thoroughly enjoyed their debut [b:The Wife Between Us|34189556|The Wife Between Us|Greer Hendricks|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1496862122s/34189556.jpg|55227731] I would say this one is even better.. But don't make me choose!

Jess Farris lives alone in New York City. She is a makeup artist that goes to wherever the client lives. It's through one of these clients that she finds out about an ethics and morality study being conducted by a psychiatrist. It pays good money she really needs so she figures it's worth getting in and answering some questions.

Those questions are ones I don't think I could even answer to a stranger. Especially the way Jess has to, at a computer being monitored, though she's not aware of it. Asked to go deeper and be completely honest. Dr. Shields soon asks for more in the next phase, being tested in a real world setting. Jess goes along with everything asked of her because more money is offered and Dr. Shields seems to really care about her and understand her. Of course nothing is what it seems and Jess is justified in feeling increasingly paranoid. I was right along with her not knowing what it was all really about and what she'd be told to do next.

And Dr. Shields.. They really keep you guessing. I loved reading their pov because they are smart, cold and analytical. I was creeped out by them and I loved it. You will make assumptions as you read and those assumptions get thrown back at you, all you can do is try to keep up! Trust in the authors and enjoy the thrill ride. There are so many twists and i enjoyed not knowing what was really going on right up until the end. This stunning work of psychological suspense is sure to make a splash when it is released January 8th, 2019.
