A man crashes a divorce party as a plus one to a former bridesmaid.  An interesting idea, the divorce party undoing the marriage ceremony, giving back the rings, the flower girl picking up petals.  The best is the adopted desert tortoise, Greeley, making it's way back into the desert when no one is looking.

But can we really undo the past?  Our anonymous narrator reflects on his own part and subsequent divorce... Unfortunately no you cannot.

The writing style and the prose were interesting and competent. Not a whole lot happened in the story though.

I am intrigued about the idea of a divorce party where the divorcing couple does the wedding ceremony but backward. For instance, instead of strewing petals down the aisle, the flower girl is picking them up.

The natural feature in this story was a desert tortoise who was supposed to symbolize the couple's eternal love. I will say that the tortoise was one of the more interesting characters and was much more likable than the party-crashing protagonist.
