A great sequel to the first book! We see Leo's friends a bit more this time around and Caroline especially has more of a co-focus centered on grieving and recovery. These are truly wonderful books and represent latinx people beautifully.
It's a delightful second book. I loved seeing Leo and her sisters working together. I like this upbeat family of brujas who are practicing magic fairly openly and benefitting the entire town in the process.

Oh gosh!! I love this! Heaps more exciting and compelling than the first one. It digs deeper into the complexities of life and death and consequences and hardships felt by the ones left behind. Oh, I almost teared. Especially, when reading about the kids' perspectives and feelings about death. This was so refreshing.

Leo's growth in this one is also palpable. She's really shaping up to be a very powerful and influential bruja of her generation. She's brave and creative, with fresh ideas, and initiates teamwork with her family and friends who are non-brujas.
🌼🌼🌼
P.S. That epilogue though! 😲👻 I can't wait to read the next one!

Such a wonderful endearing book of magic amd family. I loved the ending, it was all very sweet.
This was even better than the first book, I loved it so much. I laughed, I cried, and it reminded me once again of why I love middlegrade so much.

This series is so delightful and I can’t wait for book three. I’m going to miss my Logroño brujas
Like the first book this was a lot of fun. This book follows 3 months after the first book. So we already know the world and the characters which is why I think I enjoyed it more. Relationships are building, Leo is maturing and we learn more about magic and how it works, and also the consequences. If you liked the first book then I think you would enjoy this installment too.
