Love his methodology, now to execute...

Even before getting a dog I loved these little or rather big cuteis and I always searched and read about them.

I first watched Zak's videos on YouTube which helped me a lot to train my first hyperactive dog and then I found his book and read it.

It gives all essential details about dogs but sometimes you really gonna need to watch videos.

Some great training tips and prospective but also very repetitive. I feel like 20% of this book is reminding the reader to walk/exercise your dog before every step because it's hard to learn when overexcited which was annoying to hear on repeat

This was a thorough, readable, and entertaining book that I probably should have read before bringing home my puppy instead of after. However, there were still great insights around my dog’s behavior and ways to discourage behaviors we don’t want and encourage those we do. I definitely will be bookmarking certain sections and coming back to them again and again!

While a large portion of this book is fairly common sense if you grew up with a dog, I found that this book outlined and detailed a great foundation for what to expect and how to train a dog. George does a great job of showcasing several options for various dogs personalities, while keeping a theme of respect, kindness, and ethical training in the forefront. Would recommend, especially for anyone expecting a puppy soon!

Great book to read especially for beginners! Great to have the audio book version as well. Examples are great too! I like to refer reference this book.
