I had so much fun!! It felt very unique, and I loved the writing. I liked how the vibes felt like a combination of Lisa Frankenstein, Jennifer's Body, and teen drama I would have watched in the early 2010s. I love revenge stories and fun characters. The story moved quickly too, and I was really invested to find out what happened.
I did want a bit more character development with everyone who lived up on Resurrection Peak and some more world building with the supernatural in general.

A great spooky read!

Jennifer's Body meets AHS Murder House! I loved the odes to teen slashers, the myth around the mountain, the subplot romance, and the reunion at the end.

I do wish there was more about Grady's motive. There wasn't enough backstory or progression to show his hate for Annie. I wish there was more development on that end. I was hoping we'd told who the spirit was that showed Annie the flyer about Sam, and who actually killed Fern and the others, but atlas... No dice. I hate loose ends.

8/10 would recommend if you're looking for a decent, simple revenge horror read. 🫶🏻

1. It took Annie way too long to figure out that she was dead.
2. For the majority of the book, she just ran around and confronted people like she was human. Seriously, she was a ghost - why did locked doors stop her?
3. Sam's lingo was annoying.
4. Too many plot holes - the mystery of the other children, how their powers worked, the hellhounds, her running around town even though she's dead.
5. I figured out her killer about a quarter of the way in.

Boring not as good as the title or the blurb

Okay well now I need a movie made of this.

I'm really not a huge supernatural type of person and don't really gravitate toward that genre of books but this one was so good, it was unexpected.

At its core, this story is a gem. I really liked the premise and liked exploring the murder mystery through the eyes of an illogical, teenaged, murder-victim ghost. The writing wasn’t super strong, which is where this book falls through for me. The plot twist felt like it wasn’t sufficiently carried throughout the book, which weakens the twist for me personally. The red herrings felt too obvious and some points felt too drawn out or pointedly ignored until they were convenient. However, like I said, I love the idea of the story and that was enough to carry me through.

Annie Lane is dead. She wakes up on Resurrection Hill, having no idea who killed her. But she's ready to find out and make them pay. Hanging with a group of fellow corporeal ghosties, she investigates the circumstances of her untimely demise. What a romp! This story will have you rooting for the unlikeable main character and keep you guessing until the end.
