I enjoyed it. I feel like the author could’ve “dug deeper” on some of the characters, but it makes sense the didn’t to account for time. I was left with some large unanswered questions, which I why I rated as low as I did.

No, the story doesn’t take place in the 90’s but the way the author describes everything makes me nostalgic for rubber snakes, squishy eyeballs and the smell of funnel cakes during autumn festivals.
It was a fun and easy read from beginning to end! Never bored, always eager to learn more about Annie’s story. I flew through the book in about a day and a half.
A fun lil fact; I realized after the book came out that the author actually sold me two rings a couple years ago at a local Salem boutique, a coffin shaped black stone and a giant red ruby on a gold band. Feels fitting. Can’t wait to see more from Codie!
