Kind of boring until the very end. I also get frustrated in books like this where I can obviously see what’s happening but the main character doesn’t—I’m just like “come on, dummy!!!” the whole time. There also seemed to be some inconsistencies in how the ghost and hellhounds worked lol. Semi-satisfying ending. I would have loved a little more backstory on the other ghosts though. Especially Sam.
3.5⭐️. A lot of this story just didn’t make sense. It was a cool concept-ghost returning to avenge herself and others, but so much of it didn’t quite fit together.

It’s a fast paced spooky read following a ghost solving her own murder and getting revenge. I had so much fun with this. I was never bored, and loved how the story continued to unfold. I think the twist was rather obvious, but that’s okay! This kind of gives a bit of Beetlejuice feels. Great main character with a lot of wit and smarts. The ending did wrap a bit conveniently, but that’s my only issue.

I don’t mind a messy protagonist, but a little character growth would be nice. Also, it was definitely set up to be a series, but it’s frustrating that a lot of the world building seems to be left to future installments.

Annie Lane is bad to the bone, until she’s murdered and left to become just that, bones. Her spirit has to learn what happened, both to her when she was alive and when she died, and seemingly more important to her, where her missing good girl best friend is. Hell hath no fury like a girl and her bestie fighting the injustice of the world and determined to get justice.
I really hope there’s more to come with this one, as each spirit had a backstory im just dying to know and of course, the special Halloween nights

What could have been great was turned meh by weak writing and lack of fleshing out side characters. Also needed a better editor. Was gonna give it 2.5 but 2 is accurate.
