Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Narration: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What can I say about Honor except that I am head over heels for Xander! He is the type of MMC that I love, especially being a mom. The way that he has had feelings for Teddy for all these years…gah! There can be some triggering themes such as dealing with loss of a spouse, so make sure you check the warnings. I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention how absolutely divine the performances by Aiden Snow and Vanessa Edwin are! So if you like sexy, supportive firefighting hotshots? Then dive the heck into this story!

Teddy lost her husband in an accident months ago, and though we’re never given the details, it’s the guilt of the tragedy that holds her captive. Xander will never be an able to have a normal relationship with anyone, let alone a single mother. How could he ever cause someone the grief of loss when he’s seen first hand what it does. Though both Teddy and Xander aren’t looking for a relationship, they can’t deny the pull they have to each other.

This is the third book in the Sky Ridge Hotshots series, and can be read as a standalone, though you would be missing some background with the other characters by reading it out of order. There are a few things in the story that left me with questions, but I still enjoyed the dynamic of the characters, the tension, and the delicious Xander! I think everyone who is a mom will connect with feelings of inadequacies after child bearing that Teddy has. I know I did! But Xander is there in all his chiseled glory to obliterate those feelings, and I was so here for it!

Aiden Snow is a phenomenal voice actor who just happens to have the most enticing of gravel in his tone. He’s quite adept at turning simple phrases like “fuuu**k” and “good girl” into the most panty melting of words. The way that Vanessa Edwin is a such an incredible force in her narration. She flawlessly transitions between characters and emotions, evoking the latter with impeccable ease. I am truly in awe of her incredible skill. Snow and Edwin make for a killer duo that heightened this story to a new level!

Thank you so much to Danielle Baker and Must Love Audio for allowing me to listen and review this title. It has been such a fun journey to be able to listen to each book in this series and I am forever grateful! I hope that everyone reads about the Hotshots! And I am so looking forward to reading all about Xander’s brothers in the future. 😏

🤰“I’m drawn to her like a f***ing idiot moth to a flame.”
🔥‘Whispering low, I breathe, “I really f***ing like hearing you say my name when you come, Mama.”
🤰“Even married, even pregnant with another man's baby, I still wanted you. And f*** I hated myself for it,” he rasps brokenly. The breath that pulls in through my lips is ragged, emotion fraught. “You have dominated my thoughts for years, Teddy.”
🔥“Get out of your head, Mama. Tonight, all you’re allowed to think about is how amazing we feel together. Got it? How many times can you come before you’re begging for mercy, Teddy?”
🤰“Goddamn, such a good girl coming on my c***, Teddy. Good f***ing girl.”
🔥“You don’t need smoothing out,” he growls low, lips moving directly against mine. “And I want to be able to feel my girl’s body when I touch her.”

“Everyone thinks teen girls gossip a lot, but they’ve got nothing on grown fucking men, apparently.”

This book had so many complex topics wrapped up in a spicy bow. Dealing with grief and “moving on” is not linear and often times people are so quick to judge others or themselves for their actions. Danielle took a very hard topic and showed just ONE way someone might heal and move forward. The acknowledgment of PTSD and grief trauma was appropriate while not overshadowing the entire plot.

Listening to Aiden Snow say “Mama” wasn’t something I knew I needed in my life, but I am now a much more fulfilled person. The duet narration by Aiden and Vanessa Edwin was absolutely amazing. They really knocked it out of the park.

This was the perfect way to wrap up this series. I would love to see these three authors collab together again, and maybe even revisit Sky Ridge. It was such a fun experience.

Thank you Must Love Audio, Lyric Audiobooks, and Danielle Baker for an advance listener copy.

Easily my favorite of the three, but I really enjoyed the series overall. Kind of sad that it's over... :(
