Okay I really really liked this book, but have mixed feelings about it as well. The characters, plot, tropes, spice, and found family were all so good in this book, hence the 4 star rating. However, the timeline was so off... you are telling me the FMC's husband dies and within 6 months she is already moved on with her older brothers best friend. Idk I just feel like we should have had a 2 years later chapter or something. Anyways, I did really like both characters and I love a book with a single parent. So overall, really solid, just a little thrown off by the timeline.
Also finished with the Sky Ridge Hotshots series and overall had such a blast reading these. I loved that each book was written by a different author, such a fun concept for a series.

I quit after I read that "his hair was just a touch too long, like he'd missed a haircut" for the THIRD time
the three completely different styles across the trilogy felt weird to me, but this one took the cake. It reads like something I’d find on Wattpad or AO3, and normally that doesn’t bother me because sometimes those are masterpieces but even on those platforms this is one I wouldn’t finish. The secondhand cringe was too much.

god xander, the man that you are.
this book was so good and i was hooked entirely. xander being down bad for teddy the entire time and being so obsessed with her and her kids, god i loved it. i truly love single mom romances, i love reading about the mmc being sweet on kids that aren’t his own.
the way xander treated and cared for teddy, getting her to see how strong and beautiful she is even if she sometimes doesn’t think it and struggles with her body image. the way that he took things slow with her and loved on her and her kids. absolutely adored this book and these characters. this had so much emotion with teddy having lost her husband and her kids their dad. i just simply adored how xander stepped up without even a second thought. what a sweet way to end this series but i’ll be sad to not read about hot wild land firefighters anymore.
both of the narrators did such a good job bringing these characters to life and aiden snow can growl in my ear any time.
thank you to MLA and the author for the ALC.
