I love rereading Truman Capotes short stories. The writing is always beautiful. The ending of this particular story wouldn’t appeal to today’s youth. I can for some reason understand ottilie in a deep level and that alone is what made me love this story. Not as much as A Christmas memory but I find myself reading it a couple of times a year. I feel a mix of emotions when I read it and I haven’t found the words to describe them all.

This was part of a collection book I purchased for Breakfast at Tiffany's for my book club. I actually quite enjoyed having multiple pieces from Truman Capote to read in one spot. Out of the handful included in the book, this one was okay - definitely not my favorite of the bunch - but not disappointing either.

A short and sweet story added to the back of Breakfast at Tiffany's.
