As I stated in the Diamond Guitar review, there is a story-telling melody-esque vibe here. Predictable, but sometimes that makes it more beautiful. Otillie’s journey ends but you feel satisfied. She made the right choice for her and that’s really all that matters. While reading this, I thought about whether or not it would be appropriate to read to a child. Stories like this, with “adult references” tend to be stowed away, but here, I feel like it’s safe enough to still keep a child innocent in a similar way that Disney handles these kinds of topics. To me, a story is a story, and I would like to expose my future children to all kinds with different people and themes.

Read this after reading Breakfast at Tiffany's, which depicts a woman as nothing more than a simple minded fool, with a need to look pretty and put together. This short story was no different. Disliked the characters and the story. Thankfully, it was super short.

What did I just read? Seriously I am so confused.
This short story is included in my copy of breakfast at Tiffany's and I thought why not read it since it is short and I'm behind on my reading goal. It took me a half hour and half of my brain.
I honestly don't know what to say about this book. It was enjoyable don't get me wrong. But it was so weird! This girl is a prostitute who has a superstition about bees and she chooses to leave the brothel to marry some guy. I'm not sure if the guy was a jerk or not, but his mother was a piece of work who tried to put a spell on the girl. Yeah, I have no idea. I was entertained but very confused.

So, Truman Capote was racist racist

It was the art of sorrow, and those who best mimicked grief were much admired. After the funeral, everyone went away, satisfied that they'd done a good job.

¡Qué buen relato!

This was cute, but a little too cliche at times. I didn't like the ending as much as I was hoping.
I did like the fact that she trolled him at the end, but I didn't like the fact that she was tied to a tree and that she made her friends tie her back to the tree just to please Royale....

A short cute little read that was in the back of the Breakfast At Tiffany's novel.
The things people put up with for those they love as well as the understanding people will develop for those they love.

A dark read with a frustratingly realistic ending.
