I read this book last week and I still don’t know how I feel about it. It was dark, cynical, and really well-written. Ultimately, I think this book is about power, obsession, and the boundaries of morality.

However, Jonas' failure to integrate its salient yet complex themes to construct a cohesive, impactful narrative and the book's anticlimactic finish dampen its full potential.
