I absolutely love love love all the works by Stephanie Perkins which I have had the pleasure to read and this is no different! A beautiful story that had a surprising plot twist that gave the almost perfect character of Isla a secret flaw. Truly immersible. I want to be Isla, Lola and Anna all at once.

I'm going to review this later (I swear), but for the record, Anna will always be my first love as far as these companion novels go. HOWEVER, this is a super close second. I connected the most with Isla, hence why it resonated with me so much. What a great novel to finish the series, and totally worth the wait.

not sure why I got my hopes high for this book, I'm disappointed

UPDATE:

Ahhhhh, my order just keeps changing. Does my "order" even matter at this point? My favorite YA contemporary romance is by Stephanie Perkins and I doubt that'll ever change.

The thing is, after rereading Lola in its entirety yesterday, and then bits and pieces of Isla today, from a critical standpoint, I think Anna and Lola are better books. There's more development, more tension, a more realistic feel in general. Isla is pretty much just romance. It doesn't seem as genuine because you feel like the characters only exist for the point of being together. Don't get me wrong, I still absolutely adore this book. But for right now, I definitely think Anna and the French Kiss and Lola and the Boy Next Door are the stronger books.

ORIGINAL:

So I know that I've read all the books before. And I know that I've had my decided order ever since I finished them (the first time). And I also know that this book is the freshest in my mind.

But surprise, surprise, my order just changed. That's right, *gasp* Isla is now my favorite of the three.

I know it's crazy, but for what it is, (meaning an adorable romance with pretty much no deeper meaning than the cute relationship at hand) I think this is a perfect book. I loved it so, so much and because I always do my ratings in comparison to other books of its kind and not just every book ever, this is, unsurprisingly, 5 stars.
funny hopeful relaxing medium-paced

Book 3. I loved it. I especially enjoyed how the couple started together. This book also make me realised that sometimes, we did what we did not to protect others but to protect ourselves. And that communication is Key.

This book was so hard to read. I've never met a character as similar to me like this. She was sweet and kind to everyone but herself which ultimately ruined her really and I felt the heartbreak Isla felt because I've felt the exact same pain before. Reading this when I was going through my own heartbreaks really did help and I took my time with it because Isla and Josh brought back so many memories and feelings to the story. I absolutely adored this book. Stephanie Perkins is such a talented author.
