Sweet, fun, very easy reading.

Yet another wonderful book. Seriously Stephanie, whats your secret? Is there some YA writing steroids you're taking that make you this talented and amazing?

Isla and the Happily Ever After was great. Perkins still manages to create such unique and interesting characters, and their relationships with each other are believable and entertaining to say the least. I especially loved that Stephanie had a character on the autistic spectrum, but you could clearly see his brilliance and his worth as a person. I also loved how Isla would always have his back when people mistreated him due to his disorder. I also loved that she had an openly bi character who was successful and accepted by her family.
And of course, I love Isla and Josh. Their relationship was always funny, sweet, and at some points, heartbreaking. The use of Josh's manuscript in order to see into his head a little was so fun. I especially loved that it included Anna and the French Kiss's story line (and how Isla compared it to a soap opera). One of the best parts of these novels is how they include the characters from the previous ones. Whether important scenes or not, seeing Lola and Cricket and Anna and Étienne always cheers me up. Even hearing their names makes me smile. (Also, I won't spoil anything, but that scene with Anna and Étienne at the end? Yeah, I freaked out).

Isla and the Happily Ever After was such a good book. I'm so sad to have finished this series. Overall, I'd give this series a 5, but as a separate novel, I gave Isla a 4. This is only because it isnt as wonderful in comparison to the first two, but it was still so amazing that I couldn't put it down.

It's just not the same. I liked the books but it's not as good as the other two books. What made the other two books was that the other characters Anna and Lola both knew who they were. They didn't need a man to realize they were great. They knew they were. Isla wasn't her own person, she never became her own person and never knew who she was. She always needed someone to tell her and help her. It was a well written story but there was no buildup, Isla was obsessed with Josh from the beginning and Josh became obsessed or consumed by her quickly. I wanted to love the book, but I afraid it'll never top Anna and the French Kiss.

Made me cry again and again and again. So good.

The bad part about waiting so long for a book to be released is that expectations are so high, it's difficult to meet them. Not impossible, but difficult.

Isla and the Happily Ever After is a cute book. It's an easy read and it's a fast read. If I read this before Anna or Lola's story, I'd rate it higher, but compared to those two, Isla feels like what she worries she is -- a placeholder.

The book starts strong, but then it loses steam. The conflict is forced and the resolution contrite. Anna and Lola weren't perfect, but they were real. Isla is neither. Her BFF subplot is dumped rather than resolved, and years of anger/mistrust towards her younger sister gone with one good deed. And Josh? He had more of a personality in Anna's story. Even the cameos of beloved characters felt forced.

It's not easy to recreate something amazing. Lola worked because she wasn't Anna and the story wasn't in Paris. Isla, though, is forced to practically live Anna's life in her story, a move that makes me understand how she could be a SOAP student for four years and only have one friend. She never had a chance to shine.

This whole series was adorable, but I think this one was my favorite. Four and a half.

Okay, so, this book series is now in my all time favourite series. I adore all the characters and the romance and everything that Stephanie Perkins has created.

I will admit, however, that St. Clair and Anna will forever be my favourite couple and the first book holds a really special place in my bookshelf.

That being said, the journey through these books was amazing and I actually took quite a bit from the characters, which is always my favourite kinds of books.

This was my favourite of the trilogy. It was funny, sweet and romantic. I adored both Isla and Josh. I'm sad to see it end. Stephanie Perkins did a great job linking all the stories together. All the threads wove together beautifully.

3 out of 5 stars

it was nice but it all just felt thrown together. extra extra stars for the étienne and anna crumbs!

Love Stephanie Perkins! I stayed up way too late last night to finish this, and now I'm tempted to re-read her first two books because all of those characters made an appearance here.
