While I enjoyed the first one, this sequel fell a bit flat for me.

When I first picked up this book, recommended by friends, I thought, "Just another dog book." After having lost my best dog friend of 14 years, I was hesitant to read this. I must say it was an outstanding book, that brought comfort to me. It was hard to put down, and the story was compelling. It did make me miss my sweet Bear, but I also feel more at peace, knowing in my heart that our decision was right, and that he's chasing tennis balls and swimming to his heart's content out there, somewhere. This is a must read for dog lovers. If not dog lover, I'm not sure you'd understand the love, devotion and loyalty that IS DOG!

Although I enjoyed the first book a little more, "A Dog's Journey" was still a nice story from the dog's perspective and an enjoyable light read. All dog lovers should read these books.

This book so good that I even cried a bit on the end. Probably it wasn't as good as the first book but I really enjoyed it. It's also really rare book, I haven't read a similar book like this. But I highly recommend it for everyone and I'm looking forward to watch the movie.

I loved this book as much as the first book, something I can't say too often when I read a sequel. And since I knew what to expect re. the dog coming and going, it didn't seem as much of a tear jerker to me, though it had it's moments. Once again, Cameron writes beautifully about the bond between a dog and his person, and gives you a funny glimpse into what a dog might be thinking. This book left me wanting to share more treats with my dogs. I loved the ending, too, a perfect way to put a cap on the whole story.

Why do I always cry? I loved this story, but I am happy it is over. I need to stop crying.
