I almost gave up and didn’t finish. So it goes!

The book was interesting at first, but I lost interest for a while. I forced myself to finish it, mainly because of its popularity and the fact that I hate quitting things. The story became more complicated and confusing, yet interesting. I’m glad I finished this gym—what a quirky, confusing, inspiring, and memorable story.

I liked this book very much, and I think it will be among the most memorable books I’ve read on WWII. Given the fact that this was my third Kurt Vonnegut book, the style wasn’t as impressive this time round as it had been when I read The Breakfast of Champions in my teenage years. It was the Tralfamadorian philosophy that enchanted me here. I loved this line for instance, “Later on in life, the Tralfamadorians would advise Billy to concentrate on the happy moments of his life, and to ignore the unhappy ones—to stare only at pretty things as eternity failed to go by.” How close that is to our Khayyam and how I aspire to live thus.

It's so good to have finally read the source material for Taylor Swift's 2017 hit, "So It Goes..."
