I enjoyed this book. It took me quite awhile to get through it, but I did really enjoy it. I cried many times throughout it but it was super heartwarming and ended amazingly.

Heartwarming story perfect for middle of the night bottle feeds, but not as beautiful as her first novel, The Last Chance Library. Still recommend it for anyone looking for an easy but enchanting read about love, loss and life.

A lovely and uplifting story with a nice mix of romance, self-development, friendship and lost love.

I loved the first half of this book and was thoroughly enjoying reading it until I got half way through.
perhaps I’m overly sensitive to it right now because I’m at a point in my life where everyone I know is getting pregnant or trying or has kids and won’t shut up about it but I think the pregnant storyline is so cheap and such a boring way to keep a story going. I also didn’t care for the graphic detail at which the character was learning about her pregnancy.

Alas, I finished it because I was invested in the story with Frank and would have been happy with just that and maybe how Libby moved on in life. I would have rated higher if it weren’t for that plot line.

I listened to the audio book of this on NetGalley Shelf, but often found myself stopping what I was doing to listen and concentrate. Protagonist Libby, is a long-suffering, people-pleaser who allows her controlling boyfriend, mother and sister make decisions for her. Meeting elderly, dementia-sufferer Frank on the 88 bus in London, sparks an adventure, a quest for Frank, for Libby, Frank's carer, Dylan and her new-found friends. There are plenty of obstacles and bumps in the road, not all navigated with ease. Whilst Frank's dementia sadly progresses, his and Dylan's support help her break free of those trying to control her life, finding her own route to happiness. The characters are wonderful, the pace was just right and there was sadness as well as joy. This is a wonderful uplifting, emotional, found family tale of making your way in the world with the help of unexpected friends.

Easily 4 1/2 stars.  It was impossible not to get pulled into Frank's quest to find the girl that got away 60 years ago.  Since Frank's dementia is progressing, his carer, Dylan, is along for the search.  Soft-hearted Libby gets involved and learns the importance of taking chances and standing up for herself against some difficult secondary characters.  With the vivid descriptions, landmarks, street names, and bus stops, I feel as if I've been in London riding this bus route with 3 of the most loveable characters ever written and I'm going to miss it.
