I honestly never heard of this author before. But 2 days ago I got an email from Netgalley that it was free to read for 48 hrs (or something like that). Now I have never been approved by any of the publishers or authors I select or request on Netgalley so I was skeptical hmm I thought just a random email and the book is going to be good I said considering the authors I do know about had already rejected me multiple times.
But it was free so send to Kindle I clicked and dived in having just finished something heavy. I was drawn into the story from the get go. Landon gets his world turned up side down by his college girl friend with the news that she is pregnant and by the time he gets his head together a day or so later and goes over to talk to her there is no baby.
Fast forward to the present and he is a successful ad exec of his own company and his widowed single dad brother needs a hand watching Lyon the kid for a few days so he could pursue his career dream but the kid is lively and Landon is also strapped workwise so enter Kimber former childhood friend.
I enjoy stories of childhood crushes, former best friends etc. This one dealt with some real feelings too; abortion, divorce, abandonment, control.
It was a good fast read, the chemistry was hot and believable, as was Landon's emotions about the baby and while I wish Kimber had more guts to discard her mother and Gloria's advice I could see how someone with their background and her background would give and accept that advice.
I would definitely want to read the other books in this series by this author

There's nothing quite as fun to read as a demanding, wealthy man thrown together with a woman who challenges him!
I have a weakness for stories where people are attracted to each other, know they shouldn't be, but just can't help it. Jessica Lemmon is awesome at writing stories like this and this one is no different! Right from the beginning I enjoyed Kimber and Landon and the chemistry sparking between them.
Landon is the private, guarded type, Kimber harboured a secret crush for years... It's a recipe for romance, and almost immediately the two of them realise that this nannying gig isn't going to be as simple as they thought!
I love sassy women in my romance novels and Kimber is definitely one of them. She's not afraid to speak up or say what she's thinking, and she's definitely feisty, if you're looking for a descriptive term! The humour in the book is great and the connection between her and Landon is very real and present, with some scenes that will make any romance fan pause and reread for that full enjoyment.
So many of the books that have the wealthy man trope don't play out so well, but Jessica Lemmon's take on it is always interesting, her characters interesting and believable, and the romance a joy to read. Definitely a book I'd recommend for any fan of the genre!
