OOO THAT ENDING THO. This book is so good!! I really enjoyed the spicy scenes but I think my favorite thing was the story and everyone's back story. This book deals with some really heavy stuff so read the trigger warnings pls! Thank god for a strong female lead for once!

A different style of dark romance for me. It was a good found family of misfits broken people. I enjoy the writing style, the story and the fmc is like nothing ive ever read, She is suicidal and i find that part so well written, the way her mental health is pictured was perfect. This book is less dark then i thought, wich surprise me, i think the author just has a Nice way to bring the heavy topics in her writing so it wasnt too « horific » but it is still a very traumatic book.

There are some part of MM spice wich i usually avoid but there werent too much of it and i think it worked well. Since this is a RH i find that its only logical at some point. That being said, there is something im grateful in the book wich is that we get a description of the characters but they are not depicted all so hot and with perfect body etc. This is SO refreshing and i love some realism with the physical apparence of the people in a book. Even more if they are all mentally unstable, like crazy people dont take time to be pretty and are not in their best physical shape.

Now this book has some medium spice in it but is doesnt overpower the story, wich im glad and now search that in my reading. Smut can be nice but im the kind of person who think this is often use too much and downgrade the story at some point. The romance was very passion at first sight, i love more slowburn but it was okay.

This first book is very centered on Brook and her demons and i wish we would have more answers with the institute but i guess i’ll have to read the second book to know. I wouldve like a Little more suspense/actions, but it was good anyway.

** spoiler alert ** "Have you ever felt like a stranger in your own life? People talk to you, call your name … but none of it feels real. You’re just trapped behind glass watching your life simply pass by, one disaster at a time."

This book was a good start of the serie and I think the next book(s) can be five stars for me. I felt the deep conversations and caring for each other was missing a bit in this book. For example El wasn't feeling good and I wanted more of what the guys would do in that situation. Brooklyn is so sweet to Eli and I really feel like they understand each other. It makes me so sad to read that Eli even feels lonely and left out around the guys. He deserves all the love in the world. I also feel like we needed more chapters of him because he doesn't talk. I hope there is more of a background of characters in the next books.

I very very dislike Hudson (that is to but it lightly). His chapters were hard to get through, I hope he gets a lot of character development, What he did to Brooklyn is horrible and I don't like the way the guys just ignored that. With the whole "You're in or you're out. It's that simple." - Kade. I hate that Hudson doesn't respect her or treats her like a person. WHY THE F*CK DOES HE THING HE HAS THE RIGHT TO SAY SOMETHING ABOUT HER IN THE FIRST PLACE. I mean how disgusting is it to give her that nickname!

About Kade, I don't hate, don't love him either, he does annoy me A LOT. I hope he will grown on me Just because you can unlock a door doesn't mean you can disturb someones privacy and walk in. How scary is if If you can't even walk because you are drugged up and a couple men just walk in your room without knowing if they are safe in the first place. HERO COMPLEX, you can't save the world, begin with yourself.

Eli, I LOVE HIM SO MUCH, I really feel like he feels safe with Brooklyn and Phoenix, I mean those three AMAZING. At the moment I would have loved it if it would have been just those three. They have so many important scenes together.

Phoenix he downloaded music for Eli LOVE THAT! I'm really feel like they have a special connection. I really want to know more about Phoenix, I mean those last chapters were hard to read and they are probably also hard for him to get through.

My heart is ripped out about Brooklyn, shes been through so much and there is probably more about her what I don't know right now. So many people let her down, It's so sad that she went trough alone. Nobody to talk to and if she did, they betrayed her.

The Characters from 1-5 (Book 1)

1. Eli
2. Phoenix
3. Brooklyn
4. Kade
5. Hudson

Meh
Didn’t really like
I guess the end intrigued me……a little?
But if the last 1% is the only part that interest me then…I’m not going to read the next one
Sorry not sorry
I don’t like the writing or the characters or the plot
I don’t enjoy reading it
So even though I don’t want to be left on a stupid cliffhanger that’s not enough to keep me interested
