I’ll choose you,” I say. “No matter how hard it is, no matter what people say, every time, I’ll choose you.” “It up to you to choose me back.”

My continued love for Tess sharpe, I’ve yet to read a FMC by her that I have not loved. She writes morally grey so well, and I never see the ending coming

Sophie and Mina's relationship was best part of this book, who did it was done so badly it was like author didn't know either until end. Still book is very addictive.

I have a lot to say about this story... some good, some bad.

The first two and a half quarters of this novel fell flat for me, but the novel progressed and got better towards the ending. While reading the majority of this book, there were several things that just didn't sit well with me:

*INCOMING RANT ALERT*

Mina: I know that Mina was Sophie's best friend and lover, but I hated Mina! I know that she could be really sweet at times, and super nice, but she could also be extremely cruel! She did a lot of mean things-some described as punishments-to Sophie hence her Oxy addiction! Mina was also so secretive and stupid! If she was not as secretive as she was, and actually listened to the WARNING NOTES given to her, then she totally could have avoided her murder! If Mina were real and I was Sophie, I would totally not hang out with Mina at all!

The narrative: It's not that I didn't like Sophie as the narrative, I just wished that she had more personality. It also would have been interesting, I thought, to hear from Trev's perspective.

Info Dumps: At times there would be a lot of information to take in at once, and I felt that once you read it, you had to get the gist of it or else you would fall of track with the story. The story is, for the most part, a murder mystery so there is bound to be lots of information, but I felt that it was a little hard to remember everything, and it took me a little while between pages to connect the dots along with the story.

Description + Writing: I didn't necessarily hate the writing, but it was a little boring, and I had trouble envisioning the scenes at times because of the lack of description

*RANT ENDED*

Despite the stuff I did not like, there were also a lot of great things about this novel as well. For instance, there plot twists thrown my way I did not expect coming at all! Seriously, I have to give it to the author, Tess Sharpe, for all of the gasps of surprise I had, and you know it's a good murder mystery when you can't help but gasp... several times! I also really liked the LGBT aspect of this book, I didn't see it coming, and though it added lots of drama, I thought it gave the book some spice if that makes any sense. Sophie's character development was awesome and much needed. It's what helped me like her more. The two things I most loved about this book were the flashbacks and the ending. The flashbacks were much needed and definitely helped me understand the story better. It also gave Mina and Sophie's relationship more development. The ending was also one of the best endings I had ever read, and it helped the novel stand out from other murder mysteries. If this story were to be adapted to film-which it totally should-I would most likely watch it!

Overall, I can't say that I would recommend this story to everyone, but if you have some patience, then you will most likely enjoy it. ;)
