loved it except for the part where the love interest like very physically hurts the fmc (like breaks bones). the world building is very neat—i’m excited to see more of that in the second book and see where the romance goes.

I thought I would like this more than I did. It had elements that I usually enjoy but the main characters were insufferable. I didn’t feel their chemistry at all and the pacing of the book was difficult for me to keep my interest.

Amazing, fleshed out world and wonderfully written characters with all great chemistry with each other!!!

The characters are what got me through the book, even when it felt like nothing happened. The trials don’t happen until the very end and felt rushed, but reading about the characters was enough to keep me hooked.

Very excited for the direction this series is taking, especially with Sylvia’s character arc. I’m also curious to see if we’ll get another POV added. We got a bit of Aron’s POV scattered in this book, but I’d love a proper POV storyline with either Sefa or Marek too.

Will be reading the sequel, if it wasn’t obvious enough.
