THE GOOD: Not a favourite of John's books, but not my least favourite either. This is a nice middle of the road book. It's been a while since I've read a book where the killer comes out on top (that's all I'll say to avoid spoilers), and I definitely didn't see it coming. I also didn't guess many of the twists. I love thrillers that are about serial killers and I also loved the short chapters in this book.
THE BAD: The suspense and shock factor was missing in this one for me to really be satisfied with calling it a thriller. It felt more like crime fiction to me, and because of that the investigation felt long and drawn out.
