A bit slow at first; but, once you reach a certain point, impossible to put down. Definitely had shock factor, and part of it had me almost in tears!

WoW, what a book! It is full of suspense and terror keeping you wanting more all the time. Written from multi person perspectives you really get to know the main characters well and feel invested in the how their future will play out. We'll written with good length chapters. Fantastic read.

This was a *fine* thriller. I much prefer some of John Marrs's other works, particularly his psychological thrillers, and I was bound to come across one that just didn't strike my fancy. This was it. A true police procedural with far too many storylines, this seemed more like something you'd pick up at the grocery store checkout line in a declining beach town on vacation with family you don't really know or like. It'd be perfect for that situation, or really any scenario in which you just need *something* to avoid discussions with people you detest.
