I loved the Kinky Boys books so I decided to give these a go! OMG I am so ready to read them all!! I absolutely loved Hendrix and his family!
This was a highly enjoyable book with intriguing MCs. One character, Rebel, is porn star for a successful production company, but while his work is great, his love life sucks. The other, Troy, is a college student. They meet when Troy, having been paid to dump the man, recognizes Rebel and decides against dumping the guy that he’s been paid to dump.
The two begin a relationship of sorts, friends with benefits. Rebel realizes he’s in love, but with Troy’s background, it takes him quite awhile to figure things out. The journey was quite good.
I enjoyed this book and look forward to book two. I’m wondering what kind of scenes Rebel thinks of now that he’s in a new role at Ballsy Boys.

As soon as these boys started having real conversations and developing a connection beyond "find hole, insert penis", I quite enjoyed this story.

This book was just ok for me. I’ve read a similar series…porn stars and a great family type atmosphere with all the guys like brothers. Troy’s ‘job’ is unique however. The way Troy and Rebel meet is campy and a little silly. While some of the dialog is rushed overall, I liked most of the writing. Their sexual chemistry is off the charts and I like that they become friends while they are continue being lovers. I really liked a lot of the secondary characters and am looking forward to their stories as long as the same issues don’t exist there as they do here (listed below).
My issues with the book include the following.
- The book was imbalanced. The first 75% or so was long and detailed but the end was really rushed. Troy spends the entire book pushing Rebel away and then bam!, he has one conversation with his friend which leads to a life altering revelation causing him to do a complete 180. That was unbelievable.
- We never really find out why/how Rebel got into porn. Why did he need money?
- Rebel’s mom watching his company’s porn videos is creepy.
- Forgiveness came too easily after a lifetime of hate (speaking of Troy’s family situation).
- What happened with Troy’s game development?
I will give book 2 a try but if I see the same issues, I’ll bow out.

I preordered this because I love[a:Nora Phoenix|17187577|Nora Phoenix|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1507234412p2/17187577.jpg], and the blurb really spoke to me. I love the idea of going behind the scenes of the porn industry and normalize it a little.
Unfortunately, I wasn't as blown away as I had hoped. As expected, the behind-the-scenes parts were really interesting, and seeing Rebel evolve, but still wanting to stay in the industry was great.
My problem was with the romance. It wasn't really enough to capture my attention. I could see that the pair was sweet together, but the tension felt a little like tension for the sake of tension.
Troy has trust issues (understandably) because of his family, so a lot of the book was also about his family in contrast to Rebel's.
I will definitely come back for the following books because it will be the stories of the other porn stars, and I sense some great stories/tension there.
