Looks like a fun series is in store
Enjoyed this first book in the Ballsy Boys series. The characters are well written with good backstories. The main characters, Rebel and Troy are a little broken, a little needy. It makes it easy to root for them to have their HEA.
The story arc drags a bit in a couple places but for the most part the story develops well. The secondary characters are given enough depth that you want to know more about them...a smart move heading into a new series.

This book is filthy - in the best possible way but it's also filled with great characters, great development, a well planned out setting and an enjoyable narrative.
There's lots of emotions in this collaboration from KM Neuhold and Nora Phoenix too, the friendships of the Ballsy Boys, the passion of the scenes they perform for the porn studio, the relationship which develops between Rebel/Hendricks and Troy, the familial love of Rebel's hippie parents and extended family.
There's lots of great sex scenes too - from the heated porn scenes to the emotional encounters between Rebel and Troy when "feelings" start to creep in.
The book is also quite funny at times and serious at others. It examines, in a smaller way, feelings of abandonment that someone growing up in the care system can experience, and it also looks in a very positive way (which I applaud) at the porn industry.
I liked all the Ballsy Balls crew and I'm looking forward to reading more of their romances.

I mean, all of us Ballsy Boys have something, I suppose. As Joey pointed out, Campy always looks like he has just been thoroughly fucked. Tank has this intense, dark vibe that makes every bottom in a fifty-mile radius want to bend over and take whatever he’s dishing out. Brewer is a total fuckboy who clearly loves having sex. Pixie is new, but holy hell, that kid is up for anything. Me, I guess I do have this sultry vibe Bear’s always waxing about.
In retrospect, this was just a so-so beginning of the series. The initial conversation between Rebel and Troy, was a “wait, what?” for me. I wasn’t buying their issues and it got too old, too quickly, and though the explanation for the commitment issues made sense and wasn’t a shallow reason, towards the end it was kinda exhausting to read.
I was not expecting to like the porn studio setting, but it was actually kind of nice. Not something I can wrap my head around as a romantic setting, but the crew was fun to read about. Unfortunately, I was much more interested in the side characters (mostly Mason and Tank) rather than in Troy and Rebel.
