I did not expect that person to be the assassin! I was literally thinking of every other character, and it ended up being someone completely different. I think it was a little bit of a stretch with (spoiler) the memory loss causing her to kill, but I did enjoy the book. Funny how we're rooting for her to save the queens when (spoiler) she was the one who killed them!

This wasn't overly mysterious to me, the plot twist wasn't shocking or a grand reveal. There was not much that surprised me, was interesting to read, liked the world building but the world building really could have flourished with a longer book, or instead of YA, if it was New Adult.
Overall, interesting premise but could have been much better.

This book was so unbelievably amazing. The plot, the drama, the love story, like a fantasy and mystery all wrapped into one. It was all so so good. My only issue was the pace felt slow (but it wasn't even bad omg stop being dramatic Gabby). It was so perfect. I was not expecting the story to take that twist with the assassin reveal and it blew me away. Keralie was an amazing character. So was Varin. Their chemistry and relationship growth was fantastic. But man that plot, HO-LY crap it was so so good. Another one of my "I regret not reading this sooner" (it's been on my shelf for like 4 years)"
Good concept of story, Keralie is not a big thinking or feeler. Shallow and repetitive. Would recommend for a pre-teen that is starting to show interest in scifi and fantasy, but would encourage them to read Brave New World instead.
Ehhhhh, it's okay. As glad as I am that it was a standalone, I think the ending wraps up too quickly and too nicely and this world which seems like a really cool idea doesn't get much development before Queens start dying so we never find out much about how it works.
A few twists were predictable except one which actually surprised me.
The love interest is obvious the moment he’s described.
I don’t think I liked the way the timeline worked, and yet it couldn’t have been done any other way.
Overall, no flaws in the characters or storytelling but... nothing I loved either.

I was intrigued by the premise of this book. The first few chapters were exciting but then the middle of the book became slow. Overall, it was enjoyable but I have sooo many questions.
-Who will be the next in line?
-What happens to Varin?
-Will the Quadarian borders be eliminated?
-Will the people be allowed to explore the other Quadrants?
