I would’ve liked a little more action plot in the beginning of the book compared to character focused plot, but overall such a great read! I love the character development. While this book didn’t necessarily check my boxes for kinks, it showed me new things and new perspectives. If you’re looking for a fun, sexy, emotional read, this book is for you!

this had really great smut and I did really love to see these characters grow and loved the found family aspect, but in a way it was a bit tedious and long. It almost felt like this dark edgy smut turned into a polyamorous hallmark movie by the end. there's a reason I often never finish a series by that point I just feel BORED!

Liked
  • Not Lucas feeding the stray cats 😭😭 this one’s ridiculously warm and fuzzy yall
  • I really like the flashbacks each character gets of
meeting/seeing Jess in high school and how those interactions formed their opinions and interest in her. It gives some weight to the characters’ feelings for her other than just lust or for the sake of the plot

  • Related: I felt like all the characters were well-developed with distinct personalities, and each was lovable in their own way
  • Great character development, especially Jess
Disliked
  • I felt like the pacing was a little off sometimes in this one and some scenes felt a bit awkwardly placed.
the “I love you” chapters, while sweet and def had me squealing and kicking my feet, were kind of all back to back and felt a little forced, like a box to be ticked rather than happening organically. I think the order of the confessions between the characters made sense, but maybe should have been a little more spread out and happened at different parts of the story.
  • Might have been too long, and I know it’s weird to say but maybe too many sex scenes? Although I did enjoy getting a lot of content that wasn’t Jess-centric
  • It was really cute and sweet but the
marriage and kids-talk chapters felt really out of place. Again, it was like, “this has to be included bc that’s how happily-ever-afters are written” and idk just felt kinda forced

I can’t believe I put this series off for so long. I can see how it’s not for everyone, but it was definitely for me and I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. It touches on some rough stuff in what felt like a really genuine way, and I definitely wasn’t expecting to get hit with all these feels when I picked it up.

I don’t know that I have ever been so sad that I finished a series… like it’s over? The ending was all I could have hoped for but no matter how many books were in this series it never would have been enough. I said it before and I’ll say it again, I love these characters so much.
