I recommend taking a break between part 1 and 2. Reading back to back felt like groundhogs day. Too many similar scenes, inner monologue, and conversations between characters. The spice became unenjoyable at about the halfway point of part 2 because I was burning out. The relationship and romance is the main plot to this series which is fine, but personally I would have liked more of the secondary plot to break the rest up a bit more. Things didn’t come to head until the 90% mark with Alex/Nate and Manson’s dad and it was over fairly quickly once you get there.

It was still a good read, but after part 1, I just need a little more conflict. Just a little bit of something high stakes to keep my interest.  Once the apologies and I love you’s came out at the half way point I kept asking “so what’s left to say/do?”

I do love these boys though. Lucas still has my heart. He had the most growth and to see him finally accept that he deserves the love he’s been given and give that love back just made my heart full.

Spicy - yes. Otherwise - no. Lots of “it’s bad but it’s so good” and “something I didn’t know I needed until just now”
