Garcin is needy/clingy,
Estelle is straight-up dumb
Inez is a masterminded Psycho (i don't know if I want to be her or date her!?),
This play is absurd, thought-provoking, and makes you question whether it's you fucking up people's life or the other way around.
Two of my favourite lines:
"When I talked to people I always made sure there
was a mirror nearby in which I could see myself. I watched myself talking. And somehow it kept me alert, seeing myself as the
others saw me."

"You remember all we were told about the torture-chambers,
the fire, and brimstone, the "burning marl." Old wives' tales! There's no need for red-hot pokers. HELL IS-OTHER
PEOPLE!"

I just found it rly buckwild, funny and iconic ngl. I guess one problem I faced is that Olly Philosophy Tube already explained the plot to me? Anyways:

- Hell is other ppl is a bit too ubiquitous nowadays to feel rly insightful but hey it came from this place so credit where it’s due

- The play rly shows us that our self perceptions are basically 100% determined by how those around us see us. See: the mirror stuff, the way they keep listening to the convos in the Real World that boils down to gossip about them

- I realised that all their backstories are based in love? Maybe the perversion of the greatest good in relationships, love, is central to this hell is other people thing.

- And yet, other people are all that matter !! These people keep fighting for each other’s validation and can’t leave one another! Other people are hell, but they are also everything. They are ... the keys to heaven? O_o

- Did this inspire The Good Place

- Overall nothing rly insightful or emotional but it was short which I Love and it was funny so it was a cool read

Hell could be other people if we subsided people's ability to adapt to even the toughest situations and the hardest personalities.
