It's a five star for me for the simple reason that the book does what it sets out to do: make you think and make you cry.

A beautiful book ❤️✨

Thought the premise was interesting and it certainly made some good points, but I wasn’t very keen on the writing. I’m not sure whether it’s a consequence of the Japanese to English translation, but it read very awkward in a lot of points.

This was a sad yet touching little book. I loved it but also thought it was a bit repetitive and a little too on the nose in parts.

The idea of a cat featured in the title is naturally exciting. However, the preliminary pace of the story appeared bland and its supposed essential elemental discussions such as discovering the meaning of a numbered life is presented as too conventional. Did not finished reading.
