With all of the content warnings that I even added, you would think this is a book of horror. But I finished the book thinking, that the story was more about love, what you'll do for your children, especially in the midst of so much trauma.

i really liked this book.
the writing takes a bit to get used to, it’s very choppy, but it’s a good one. 
it’s pretty slow until almost halfway through, then it picks up quite a bit. i really enjoyed the story, liked the way the characters were written (i enjoy the notion of not knowing whether i like or trust characters), and god damn did the last 10ish chapters have me crying. highly encourage everyone to pick up this book and give it a read.

I went into this blind, but thought it was going to be more of a fast paced thriller. However, this book was a slow paced suspense with very few characters but well developed character arcs. This book kept me guessing as to who was telling the truth and who was good or bad. By the end, I was very invested in the characters and could feel the physical emotion the characters were going through.
