going to try to keep this spoiler free but i don't have much to say about the writing that i didn't already say in my review of the awakening so it'll be pretty short. we get some chapters in the guys' pov and while stuff was hinted at in the first book the chapters provide more insight into the other characters and there was more focus on them + their motivations than before! this book also developed + focused on nymphs more and the girls are starting to settle in and even evolve imo. geraldine gets some more 'screentime' here and i'm obsessed even if there isn't much more development for her yet since she's starting to grow closer to the girls regardless.

i usually hate action scenes (especially in books) because i find them terribly boring and redundant but the last 10% had me biting my nails on the edge of my seat. ngl i can't wait to start the 3rd book because it left off at such a crazy place but i have been advised it's better to read the prequel first💔 also i'm sure i'm supposed to hate max but i just can't i love (fictional) male manipulators and his antics are endearing to me i wish he had more focus

I love that we get so much of the school and learn about how this world works along with the twins. The twins knew nothing about this until Orion came and took them back to the college. I have so many questions because I have no clue who the girls will end up with. They are both in these love triangles, and one of them is a teacher! Nothing has really crossed the lines there. But all of the guys have some pretty big secrets, and the way this one ended, I need to know what will happen ASAP!

This book series is fun. It is NOT a literary masterpiece but it’s really addictive and enjoyable. Please check trigger warning for this before reading.
*SPOILERS*

Tory and Darcy set out to get revenge on the heirs.( I feel like their revenge was petty in response to what they did but 🤷🏾‍♀️).  It all ends with a fast paced Pitball scene.
Pros:
🌟The twins revenge
🌟the girls discovering their powers
🌟their friendship with Sofia and Gertrude
Cons:
🌟Seth. Just Seth himself
🌟the girls refusal to research their past or their family. They just go “My father the savage king” and move on to staring at a one of the Heirs.
🌟 their constant need to go do stuff at night with no one around.
🌟Darius’s Dad
🌟The girls refusing to connect any dots at all
