I loved seeing the girls fight back! Their form of revenge is so smart and good. Lots of relationships starting to form and develop and I think this is the beginnings of characters starting to understand each other. Absolutely unhinged and I loved it

going to try to keep this spoiler free but i don't have much to say about the writing that i didn't already say in my review of the awakening so it'll be pretty short. we get some chapters in the guys' pov and while stuff was hinted at in the first book the chapters provide more insight into the other characters and there was more focus on them + their motivations than before! this book also developed + focused on nymphs more and the girls are starting to settle in and even evolve imo. geraldine gets some more 'screentime' here and i'm obsessed even if there isn't much more development for her yet since she's starting to grow closer to the girls regardless.

i usually hate action scenes (especially in books) because i find them terribly boring and redundant but the last 10% had me biting my nails on the edge of my seat. ngl i can't wait to start the 3rd book because it left off at such a crazy place but i have been advised it's better to read the prequel firstšŸ’” also i'm sure i'm supposed to hate max but i just can't i love (fictional) male manipulators and his antics are endearing to me i wish he had more focus

A huge improvement from book one! We have more character development and a good plot.

I definitely liked this more than the first book, but I gave it the same rating cuz I just couldn't bring myself to give it four stars. I took a break from reading it about halfway through to focus on my book club books, but man that last third really goes by in a whirlwind. It's nice to see the twins finally developing their own personalities and discover themselves as Fae, but it's equally as nice to see the Heirs get a taste of their own medicine. Looking forward to the next one!

4 out of 5 ā˜†ā€™s.

ā€It didnā€™t matter that I hated him and he hated me, in that moment it was only us and them. And I couldnā€™t bear to let them take him.ā€

Diving back into this world again and  getting to see the outcome of the events that unfolded in ā€The Awakeningā€ was such a fun experience!

I loved getting to see Tory and Darcy gain some more footing in Solaria ā€” stating that theyā€™re starting to see it as their home, etc. ā€” as well as seeing their continued attempts at harnessing their powers.

(Iā€™m glad that the authors of the series are making this a gradual process for the sisters ā€” rather than having Tory and Darcy arrive at ZA and instantly being able to beat everyone to a pulpā€¦)

I also enjoyed seeing Orion and Darcyā€™s relationship develop a bit more in this novelā€¦Iā€™m such a sucker for them!

ą©ˆāœ©ā€§ā‚ŠĖš

Iā€™m sooo excited to begin ā€œThe Reckoningā€œ! :)

P.S. Orion is still my number one. ā™”

again im just reading this for a good time lmaoā€¦ also these books are kinda long for no reason like the first half to middle is barely any plot and all the action and good stuff is at the end which is understandable but thereā€™s too much exposition.

also can we talk about the tokenism of diegoā€¦

and the fact that this series lacks diversity when thereā€™s so many species of fae ??? thereā€™s one poc in this whole series and heā€™s a bad guy (max rigel), the vega twins and diego are latine but theyā€™re white so does that even count,,,

letā€™s also mention the fact that lance is like 26 and darcy is 18ā€¦ at least tory is flirting with people her age not that it makes it any better cause she has terrible taste (abusers).
