I still want more plot progress although there is good character development

The professor / student pairing heats up. More forbidden spiciness and lots of pining. A new mystery presents itself. And my favorite secondary character starts to become more important to the plot. So much fun. 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I loved seeing the girls fight back! Their form of revenge is so smart and good. Lots of relationships starting to form and develop and I think this is the beginnings of characters starting to understand each other. Absolutely unhinged and I loved it

well it certainly was better than the first book, but i still feel like a whole lotta nothing happened!
there were some good scenes, and it was kinda fun getting pov chapters of the celestial heirs.
lemme give my personal ranking of how likable they are:
  1. orion (pretty interesting dude, got a lot riding on the tension)
  2. caleb (only heir to actually do something about everyone’s insane attraction to the twins)
  3. darius (brooding and anger issues can only take you so far in life)
  4. seth (still angry at him for cutting off darcy’s hair and wearing it like a freak)
  5. max (so irrelevant)

Like #1, not good but passably entertaining. Lots of the same issues as with #1. Pacing is weird. These 450+ page books have covered like 2 months total. Still not into the bully romance aspect. Meh, we’ll see if I continue reading the series.

going to try to keep this spoiler free but i don't have much to say about the writing that i didn't already say in my review of the awakening so it'll be pretty short. we get some chapters in the guys' pov and while stuff was hinted at in the first book the chapters provide more insight into the other characters and there was more focus on them + their motivations than before! this book also developed + focused on nymphs more and the girls are starting to settle in and even evolve imo. geraldine gets some more 'screentime' here and i'm obsessed even if there isn't much more development for her yet since she's starting to grow closer to the girls regardless.

i usually hate action scenes (especially in books) because i find them terribly boring and redundant but the last 10% had me biting my nails on the edge of my seat. ngl i can't wait to start the 3rd book because it left off at such a crazy place but i have been advised it's better to read the prequel first💔 also i'm sure i'm supposed to hate max but i just can't i love (fictional) male manipulators and his antics are endearing to me i wish he had more focus
