It is very poorly edited. There are too many elements to a plot that isn't easily identifiable. Major content warning.

It was better than the first but not by much. I was going to give it a 1.75 but gave it +0.25 for the multiple POVs. The writing seemed less annoying and juvenile but maybe because now I expected it. The twins are still extremely annoying and kinda stupid in their decisions but Darius and Max are making up for it.

I thoroughly enjoyed the first book, but I enjoyed this one so much more!
I found the characters much more loveable, I found the sexy scenes more relatable and the tense scenes had me on the edge of my seat.
I devoured it in two days, I could barely go about my usual daily activities without debating my theories or plotting what might happen next!
A series that finally levels the excitement I had for ACOTAR!!
I absolutely adore Lance Orion with Darcy but I find myself unable to commit to their relationship after the scene about fated mates and how if they don’t go right, shit goes sideways and with the twins facing shit 24/7, she is obviously doomed to a troubled future in that relationship, though I really hope they succeed…
I prefer Tory with Caleb; who I am greatly warming up to. Though alike my feeling with ‘Dorian’, I have a feeling she won’t work out with either him or Darius.

I’m just hoping things start to level out for them now, that they eventually end up on the throne with their orders revealed (which I’m dying to find out)!!!

This sequel was definitely more character  based than plot based and gave us a lot more insight into the characters - especially the Heirs.
I know that I shouldn’t love Caleb and Darius but their development is so complex that I just can’t help it. Also the Darius and Orion subplot has significantly changed my feelings towards Orion. He’s still a yikes but I can see past that now and give him more of a chance.
I absolutely love that we saw perspectives beyond Tory and Darcy and I really hope that continues in the rest of the series!
I also fully stan Tory’s active acknowledgment in her risky choice of men and the way she just lives her life anyway. We love to see it!
This series has such a grip on me and I literally cannot stop reading.
There wasn’t as much action in this one but the ending was such a WILD ride!
