I loved seeing the girls fight back! Their form of revenge is so smart and good. Lots of relationships starting to form and develop and I think this is the beginnings of characters starting to understand each other. Absolutely unhinged and I loved it

going to try to keep this spoiler free but i don't have much to say about the writing that i didn't already say in my review of the awakening so it'll be pretty short. we get some chapters in the guys' pov and while stuff was hinted at in the first book the chapters provide more insight into the other characters and there was more focus on them + their motivations than before! this book also developed + focused on nymphs more and the girls are starting to settle in and even evolve imo. geraldine gets some more 'screentime' here and i'm obsessed even if there isn't much more development for her yet since she's starting to grow closer to the girls regardless.

i usually hate action scenes (especially in books) because i find them terribly boring and redundant but the last 10% had me biting my nails on the edge of my seat. ngl i can't wait to start the 3rd book because it left off at such a crazy place but i have been advised it's better to read the prequel firstđź’” also i'm sure i'm supposed to hate max but i just can't i love (fictional) male manipulators and his antics are endearing to me i wish he had more focus

+ satisfied with the plots and subplots, and their progress
•really like Tory, wish Darcy had a bit more personality? But she has progressed from the first novel so hopefully that continues
+ I enjoy the multiple POVs

It is very poorly edited. There are too many elements to a plot that isn't easily identifiable. Major content warning.

I hate myself for loving this, but while the first one was a bit dubious and questionable, this one was very focused on revenge and I absolutely loved it. Plus I loved that we got some perspective in the guys’ minds, which I suppose strung a little bit of empathy for them.

I definitely liked this more than the first book, but I gave it the same rating cuz I just couldn't bring myself to give it four stars. I took a break from reading it about halfway through to focus on my book club books, but man that last third really goes by in a whirlwind. It's nice to see the twins finally developing their own personalities and discover themselves as Fae, but it's equally as nice to see the Heirs get a taste of their own medicine. Looking forward to the next one!
