If you lived in the 1970s or have no idea about politics, this book is a good read.

For me, it was boring, the characters uninteresting and I simply do not enjoy this style of writing.

A lot to chew on—it was shaping the way I thought of the world and the perspectives in it as I was reading it, as well as helping me articulate thoughts and feelings I’ve had. It is so unique: it makes both societies functional & rationalizes both (where the tendency now is to write dystopian), takes a hard look into the current problems we face, exemplifies the voice of the main character by linking his thought process with physics to his thought processes about the worlds, systems, time, and others. And at the end of it all, there’s still that feeling of realistic hope. It’s beautifully written and there is so much to talk about. This will be a book to re read and gather new insights. Le Guin is a master class writer and one of the greats.
