Everyone should read this book.
Somehow I spent a large part of this book bored, and yet by the end it had changed to be the best book I’ve read all year. It takes more concentration than many things I’ve read later because it considers heavier ideas, and it handles them incredibly well. The contemplation of what freedom means, and how we can find it in our lives, was exactly what I needed.

I haven’t read science fiction in years, and LeGuin’s magical immersion into far off universes really engaged me. Reminds me a lot of afrofuturistic work I've read, questioning not the 'what's of the future, but the 'who's.
Eerste poging na een paar hoofdstukken gestrand. Meegenomen op vakantie en alsnog uitgelezen. Ging na het moeizame hoofdstuk als een trein. Prachtig boek. Nu The Left Hand of Darkness eens opsnorren.

genuinely a pleasure to read. it was a wonderful change of pace to read a utopia about anarchy! positively a delight. i enjoyed the characters, the plot was enticing enough, lots of good quotes. just a nice feel good wholesome adventure through space and time via a philosophical anarchist physicist, think this will be one I read again.
